My Creative Space

Hey, I have created a new blog to specifically show of my works of art??!! (if you can call it that)

I used to have a passion for all sorts of Art, from drawing to painting to pottery etc, however over the years that has some what got lost in the haze of what is my life. I have been poorly for a number of months and have now decided to re kindle my love affair for Art, Photograpy and Cooking. So on here you will come across all sorts of random things, some will hopefully (fingers crossed) be good and some not so good......ALL comments are welcome : )

Wallart - Iris Folding

As the title says really....i have basically used a mixture of different papers (wall papaer, colour charts, news paper etc to create a peice of wall art, I have mounted it on black card and am now just looking for somewhere to display it.

Tile Designs

Im currently attending an Arts on Prescription Course and we have a project at the minute to design 6 tiles based on the idea of Pictograms....these tiles will then be displayed at an Exhibition.....so far I have created the below 3 ideas, they will then be scanned on to lasertran paper and put onto the tiles. I am going to design some more and then chose my favourite 6 for exhibiting.

Today's Paintings

I think I am slowly beginning to master the art of watercolour painting, and this time i remembered to use masking tape around the edges to create a neater edge.

These pictures basically sum my mood up at the minute, murky and dark!! Especially the Castle!!

Foggy Mountain

Lily Pads

I have not done any watercolour painting since I left school.....BUT it was something I enjoyed and I am hoping to use art as a way of escaping/distracting me from the hell that goes on in my head on a daily basis........ So here is the inital picture I drew

The Finished Piece

I am quite pleased with myself and actually feel quite good right at this minute :)

Magic Eyes

My inspiration for this picture has been taken from my daughter Alisha. She believes that her mummy has magic eyes because when she looks in my eyes she can see her reflection in my pupils.
I initially drew the eye as you can see:

I then scanned it and super imposed a black and white photo of Alisha onto in.

Fairy with Wings

This again was done with my imagination, and I am wondering whether I might write a short story with illustrations about fairies for my little girl. She enjoys looking at the 2 fairy pictures I have drawn so far so it would be a nice little suprise if I could make her a little book.....I just have to try and write a Magical Fairy Story....that will be a challange on its own for me

Fairy

This is the first time, I have really used Crayons to try and create shadow. I have a book on how to draw fairies which I used for the basic shape and then my imagination did the rest.

Quite Impressed - Baby Boy

Well I am quite impressed with this....this is my first 'proper' picture that I have drawn in years, I think the last time I sketched any picture like this was when I was at school about 12 years ago.

Just a couple of Doodles done when in hospital, I did these for my Little Girl just to reassure her that mummy loves her very much.

Gotta start somewhere

Ok, so its nothing amazing, but we all have to start somewhere I suppose, this is just one of the many pictures I drew while in hospital. The writing was created by using 2 pencils strapped together to give a calligrahpic effect!! I was bouncing ideas around for a room plate for my daughter : )
